What is ACA, also called ObamaCare?

The Affordable Care Act (ACA), often called ObamaCare, is the federal law that created Marketplace coverage standards and financial assistance. It is not the name of one insurance company or one health plan.

ACA-compliant individual plans cover essential health benefits, protect people with pre-existing conditions and set consumer-protection rules.
